I personally have no issue with Dynasty. It's a great album. KISS really works as a pop band, Sure Know Something is a brilliant pop song. Ace rocks on this album. Man is a strong track and Save Your Love contains one of his best solos. Gene hardly has any presence, only popping up twice on side /5(). This LP has the same cover as another Australian Dynasty release but it has different labels - there is a slight variation in typesetting. This release has "Manufactured and Distributed by Astor Records" printed on the labels and the other release does not/5(44).

It may not be the KISS from their peak years but it really is a gem in my opinion. If you rejected this album when it came out try it again. My review is about the condition of the album, not the music. Simply put, the album is unlistenable. It skips too many times to count. It was a brand new, unopened, remastered album.

Very disappointed. Underrated Kiss Sure Know Something - Kiss - Dynasty (Vinyl. There's only like 2 disco songs on there. Im just a bit too young to have the ingrained hatred of disco some people do.

I was in 1st grade when Dynasty came out. Already a Kiss fan and i didnt realize i was supposed to not like it. Magic Touch is heavy as Hell and is one of Paul's best, like ever. Ace's songs rock, Gene's two songs are good, at least Charisma Ace has more songs than Gene on this one, how can you go wrong? Peter's token song is a piece of crap, but that's to be expected.

Those of you who thought Kiss sold out at the time should give this one another chance. Disco's been dead a real long time now. Its safe to go back in the water. I don't know about anyone else but I loved this album as much as the previously released Kiss band album"Love Gun" album, I thought Kiss made a great comeback on this album, Album). I guess why not too many people voted as well as me, is because this is more of a hard pop rock type of album.

The songs, are still great you just have to get into them and take your time listening to each song and soon you will feel as good as I do about this Kiss band album, Even though most people seem to dislike this album I personally highly recommend it as a decent rock album, to buy I do know a lot of people hate Kiss and a lot of people like Kiss. Dabbling into some disco, Anton Fig, not Peter Criss on drums, lost some of the hard rock edge. However, it was still KISS. I can appreciate it more today than back in There are some good tunes on this album.

Fortunately, they found their way back in the next three years with "Creatures of the Night. One person found this helpful. Dynasty is a great comeback album after the solo albums and to me is 1 of their best to date. This is where Kiss went more Commercial but most of the songs here are good great tunes. Overall a solid album and all 4 sing great on it. Anton Fig plays awesome on this album also playing on everything but Dirty Livin.

I've probably listened to this the most in their catalog besides Love Gun and Unmasked. Never skip over a song which I feel is a very strong album. Some fans cried sell-out and their popularity began to wane. But looking back over 25 years I still think this is a good album.

My favorite songs are Charisma classic Gene and a great solo! The cover of the Stone's Man was a good addition to the album. There is not really any song on the album that I dislike but I think Dirty Livin and Hard Times are two of the weaker tracks. I seem to recall reading that Anton Fig David Letterman played most or all of drums on Dynasty as well as Ace's solo album which is a shame because Peter's drumming Sure Know Something - Kiss - Dynasty (Vinyl a part of many classic Kiss songs.

Unfortunately a string of good Kiss albums would come to an end with Dynasty as the original line-up would officially break up after the so-so Unmasked. See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. Translate all reviews to English. Classic Rock and Heavy metal Vault.

Although I would never accuse them of trend hopping, KISS were often just a little bit behind the times. KISS never flat out copied what other bands or other musical artists were doing, they probably had a healthy degree of contemporary influence if you will, but they never followed trends.

But their musical ideas did sometimes emerge during an eclipse of an era. Allow me to elaborate with this album. Releasing a disco inspired album in ? Disco had ended pretty much. And what about in when they released "Music from the elder", an conceptual album, with orchestral elements.

Err, "The Wall" anyone? As well as making them even more rich, it established Pink Floyd's place in the pantheon of rock gods for yet another time. KISS were savvy to take notice But that out the way, we have gathered "Dynasty" is an album LP probably would have faired better if it was released mid's, Album) it was still successful and there are lots of KISS tracks I like to revisit.

Of course the opening track "I was made for lovin' you" is an instant classic, and every time I hear it, I can imagine myself in some sort of hazy 70's music video, people in a dark bar, dancing badly and chucking shapes, the camera panning amateurishly through all the faces and people, in that 70's ABBA or Bee Gee's visual style. After all towards the end of that decade more and more session guitarists had to step in, due to Ace's substance problems and unpredictable manner.

There are some songs which Sure Know Something - Kiss - Dynasty (Vinyl terrible, but not particularly screaming for a second or third listen. All in all this is quite an inspiring album, but for those of you who wore out your copy of "Destroyer" might be a little underwhelmed. Thank you for your feedback. Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. Not liked by a lot of KISS fans but i think it is a classic. This is a brilliant album filled with pomp, charismaflair.

The four members all throw their vocals in to a glorious range of tracks. There are some sublime cuts here, dont be a mug, get this. Classic Kiss, good album. Probably one of there weakest albums, has a few good songs. Load more international reviews. Who would have thought that a disco orientated rock album could sound so good - only Kiss could pull this off.

Excellent CD. Brilliant tracks. Thin pop-oriented production from Vini Poncia hurt this album when the material would have benefitted greatly from the production talents of Eddie Kramer. Peter Criss appears on only one song, Dirty Livin' which he wrote. The drummer for the rest of the album is Anton Fig marking the first major departure in line-up even though it was never announced and Anton never became an official member even though he drummed on every track on the next album Unmasked.

All the great bands of history have been able to turn to the new artistic reality the market challenges them with and produce songs that twist the day to their will, Stones, Beatles, Bowie, Rod the God, Bryan Ferry, Dire Straits and Kiss, you will notice only one American band in this list and this marks their greatness, with the quintessential song of the decade they rose above their peers and produced an album that still holds up today, if it was released tomorrow it would be a smash hit all over again, but in it's own time it strode the world and conquered all before it.

This album signaled the end of the classic Kiss. What a disappointment to their real fans. If Gene and Peter's solo albums didn't put people off this band, Dynasty certainly did. Translate review to English. Buena oportunidad por el precio especialmente de tener un buen disco.

In dieser Phase der musikalischen Weiterentwicklung und Selbstfindung entstand also die "Dynasty". Musikalisch stellt sich Kiss deutlich weiterentwickelt dar.

Dynasty marked the first time that the original four members of Kiss didn't all appear together for the entire album -- session drummer Anton Fig subbed for Peter Criss due to the latter's erratic behavior and injuries sustained in a serious car crash. And even though it was a platinum-plus smash, Dynasty marked the beginning of Kiss' unfocused period, which would ultimately end in a nosedive.
