There are a lot of negative reviews about the quality of the pressing. I was very hesitant about purchasing but I figured if I got a bad copy I would just return since amazon returns rock. Fortunately I received a flawless copy and was happy that I took a chance. No warping and no skipping throughout the entire album. The only reason I knocked a star off is because there are not a lot of extras in this album.
It is a very plain single pressing album and I would love to see more fan fare Everythings Not Lost - Coldplay - Parachutes (CD the band regarding it's pressings. This is a great album, and I think the music is 5 stars. This rating is simply about the quality of the vinyl pressing. It is heavy and clearly high-quality feeling, but lacks some musicality. Some surface noise is present, even after cleaning the record and ensuring no static is present.
This pressing also lacks the dynamic range of my other LPs, making for a bit of Everythings Not Lost - Coldplay - Parachutes (CD disappointing listen at times. There are parts of this album that have great dynamic shifts, providing some "slam" factor in addition to the great musicality the guitar intro to "Yellow", when things really start to pick up, for exampleand this LP simply doesn't reflect those parts.
The record was shipped well and came in great shape. No complaints about warping or damage. Such a gorgeous album. Overlooked because of their output since, but this has such a rich production, deep sense of tone and mood, with a string of just gorgeous songs.
Sparks, Don't Panic, and the hidden track all great deep cuts. Nice quiet vinyl and well packaged. The large album cover you can actually see the picture the band intended. I frankly think this mastering sounds better than the CD. Usually it's a toss-up. One buys vinyl for vinyl's sake. I am media agnostic. But in this case I enjoy listening to the album more than CD.
And it brings me great joy to be! It's very, very mellow. Anyway, at first, none of the songs really stood out But flash forward months, and this is quite a nice, relaxing, and very, very soothing alternative CD. And Chris Martin's voice for the most part, fits right Everythings Not Lost - Coldplay - Parachutes (CD It was nearly as good, but less unique than this CD.
But all of the CDs have at least 4 inspiring tracks on them. This CD should be owned by most alternative music fans. They will love its mellow and calming vibe. It's in-describe-able!! It's so lovely, that I'm at a BIG loss of words.
I don't know if I've said this already, but when I initially purchased this from Best Buy for 13 bucks, and got it home, I was thinking, "This doesn't stand out much. It's perfection.
You know they've found something special when the skit on the album perfectly blends into the next song. I have no regrets buying this one. Call me crazy but They will love its mellow feel.
It's indescribable!! One person found this helpful. See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. Thank you for your feedback. Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. When I first heard "Yellow" all those years ago, I just knew that this band was going to be special, Everythings Not Lost - Coldplay - Parachutes (CD. I saw them live twice and will remember "Yellow" being played while large yellow balloons bounced around across the audience.
I couldn't afford to see them these days even if I could get hold of a ticket. But this is a great album. I am a fan of the old sound of Coldplay and that's why I have been collecting their albums before Viva la vida. Last year I purchased A rush of blood to the head and really liked that album too. So after working my way backwards the only thing left was for me to buy this album which features the classic singles Yellow and Trouble on it. Chris Martin apparently wrote this song for an ex-girlfriend, and then he married Paltrow, who has blue eyes.
Coldplay continues to play this song live even though subsequent Martin girlfriends such as Jennifer Lawrence and Dakota Johnson also have blue eyes.
The rest of this track, which was written during the Parachutes era and subsequently appeared on A Rush Of Blood, returns Coldplay safely to warm and gently chiming folk-rock territory. What if instead of automatically clowning the first-ever collaboration between Coldplay and The Chainsmokers, you actually listened to it and realized that it was kind of awesome?
Something about the combination of glitzy synths and Southern California night-time air rushing through rolled-down windows made this song irresistible. And then I heard it in every LA Lyft. Deep down, he knew that there were other beautiful actresses in his future. Not long after Parachutes dropped in JulyRadiohead moved beyond that sound and into the electronic experimentalism of Kid A. Whereas Radiohead specialized in sonic representations of a pessimistic dystopia, Coldplay had a single-minded focus on aggressively uplifting expressions of hope.
And, as is often true with this band, they get way closer to the mark than you would expect. Yes, you can laugh at the purple prose. But the sentiment is definitely pretty snarl-y. It has also been likened to a piece by the 18th-century composer Giovanni Battista Draghi. But Coldplay will forever own this melody.
They earned it. When they performed at the Super Bowl inthis was the first song they played because of course it was the first song. Nearly perfectly formed, a confident showing of pristine, heartfelt songs that stand up alone and gain greater strength in the context of the full album, which ebbs and flows in a great purge of emotions. Once you fall for "Yellow," the rest of the album will kick in, and fast. Although "Parachutes" brings nothing new to the table, Coldplay seems talented enough to transcend this early identity crisis.
Musically, the quartet is borderline worthless. User Reviews. Write a Review. Positive: 58 out of Mixed: 3 out of Negative: 3 out of One of the most romantic albums I have heard. This is one of the best record of the decade.
After this, Coldplay had never sound the same again. They were real and true to their project This is one of the best record of the decade. They were real and true to their project the rest are good records but not like this one. Some of the others you cannot fell their essence i admit they are evolving. A stunningly amazing album in its honesty and emotion.
Lacking in the textural blur of Coldplays later two albums thus far but insted A stunningly amazing album in its honesty and emotion. Lacking in the textural blur of Coldplays later two albums thus far but insted relying on the ring of Buckland's guitar hooks and Martins vocals to creat engaging tunes. Shiver-Spies-Sparks are perfectly matched and fade gentaly down to the albums single, Yellow. The remainder of the album begins to indolge in noodling a bit more but still includes some notible hooks and choruses before finishing with "all is not lost" a beautiful sing along that the whole band seems to get swept up in.
Definetly the best of Coldplay's albums, and probible that it will remain that way for years to come. Up to the title track this album is a masterpiece but it wanes a little towards the end though the final track is redemption enough. Of course Up to the title track this album is a masterpiece but it wanes a little towards the end though the final track is redemption enough. Of course we now know this was just the start and they've only got better with each subsequent record but I will always come back to their debut and enjoy it just as much each time and more likely even more so.
