Dec 02, Lynn Worton rated it it was amazing. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in return for an Chapter 9 - Rollercoaster / Love Fever (Vinyl) review. This is the first book in a new contemporary romance series by this author.
I loved it! Amie Wilson is a wonderful character. I really liked her. It's nice to read a book about a normal person once and a while. She is a thirty-five year old mother of two. She struggles to make ends meet by working long hours as a dog groomer. When Amie wins concert tickets to her daughter's favourite boy band, she wasn't l I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review. When Amie wins concert tickets to her daughter's favourite boy band, she wasn't looking for love.
However, fate had other plans. Rob Robertson is also a wonderful character. I really liked him. He is the oldest member and lead singer of the group Wrong Way. Facing a difficult decision, Rob finds himself contemplating his future career. However, when he meets Amie, something clicks and he realises what's missing.
Now he just has to convince Amie that he's not like her ex. This book is told through the eyes of both Amie and Rob, though mostly Amie's, which gives the reader an insight into their thoughts and feelings.
I love a story to sweep me up completely. This book did exactly that. I started to read and didn't put it down until I finished it. Roller coaster is an apt name for this story. There are many ups and downs, never mind the twists and turns that kept me hooked.
I ran through a whole gamut of emotions: from happiness to sadness, anger to frustration. I did want to shake Amie and tell her to stop being an idiot at times okay, most of the timeas I found her insecurity a little trying. But, I can also understand her reluctance to let her heart, and that of her family, be broken again. I loved meeting Joy, Amie's thirteen year old daughter. She is a typical teen girl, who has a huge crush on Henry, one of the other member's of Wrong Way.
She still has the exuberance of a pre-teen and hasn't quite reached the angst riddled stage yet. Craig, Amie's fifteen year old son, is also another wonderful character, Chapter 9 - Rollercoaster / Love Fever (Vinyl).
He has a good head on his shoulders, though not as moody as my nephews' were at that age. This story has a twist that had me reaching for the tissues. I will not say whether it was in joy or sadness, because that would be a spoiler. However, I will say that it touched me deeply. Amie and Rob faced many obstacles on their roller coaster ride of love, and it has been an emotional journey for all concerned. The story has an ending that is a little ambiguous and it made me feel Chapter 9 - Rollercoaster / Love Fever (Vinyl) the story is not quite finished.
Whether it carries on into book two of the series, I'm not sure. However, whether is does or it doesn't, I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series as soon as possible. Wilsoncroft has written a fantastic contemporary romance. I love her fast paced writing style and the flow is wonderful.
Her characters are extremely lifelike and likable. This is the second book I have read by this author and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future. Due to scenes of a sexual nature that although not erotic or as explicit as some romances out there are a little on the hot side, I do not recommend this book to younger readers under I do, however, highly recommend this book if you love new adult or contemporary romance.
First of all, I want to say that Amie is a partially deaf single mother of two. She works her behind off, owns her own in home dog grooming business and supports herself and her kids that way. Secondly, I am a mother of two teenagers boy and girl too! I love Amie's relationship with her Father, Son, and Daughter. Her Father is so protective of her. That is so sweet and he's such a good man to do that for his daughter. Her son and daughter are absolutely awesome, sweet, and funny to read about when they interact.
Of course, they are your typical teens and fight a lot, but they all love each other Chapter 9 - Rollercoaster / Love Fever (Vinyl) the end of the day. When Amie really needed the kids to step up and help out, they did and with a smile on their faces. Then there's Rob He is this gorgeous, sexy, sweet, loving, and adorkable all in one lead singer of a boy band, of all things, called "Wrong Way".
Amie's best friend won tickets for her and her daughter their concert and passes to the bands tour bus. Amies daughter is an avid fan too. So, the day of the concert when they enter the tour bus, Rob is immediately taken by Amie. It takes a lot of up and downs for these two and Amie doesn't have anything easy in her life at all. All you want to do throughout the book is hug her and help her every step of the way.
She eventually will get there on her own tho, because that women is a fighter! I recommend this story to all you ladies looking for a good Rockstar Romance and love story. There's even sexy times in there too!!!! Absolutely loved it. So excited! Now go buy, one click, stalk this author, check this book out and get hooked in Amie and Robs love story.
Who knew that a chance encounter would lead to something more? Certainly not Amie Wilson. But when she is able to take her daughter to her favorite boy band concert, something more absolutely happens. There she meets Rob and feels an instant connection. But life finds ways of interfering and causing trouble for the two. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles constantly showing up in their way? Or would it be best to just throw in the towel and settle for what is easy and familiar?
Hating to Who knew that a chance encounter would lead to something more? Hating to leave the comfort zone she has known for 14 years, Amie has to decide just that. Even now that I have finished I Chapter 9 - Rollercoaster / Love Fever (Vinyl) to pick it back up and see what happens. But I can't! I have to wait until the end of the year when she is ready to release book 2 of the series. So yeah, it does end on a sorta cliffhanger, but some questions do get answered before it does.
Think of it as an ending that is churning up a new storyline. Does that even make since? Any who, I adored Rob and Amie. Yes, even through all their bickering and her constant questioning of their relationship. I was happy to read of a character that is exactly like her: REAL! Sometimes she could be a little too real. You get women who are not the model types and come with everyday problems. But you get the romance too.
Such a roller coaster of a romance. Fun and flirty, sweet and sexy Readers are going to inhale what Wilsoncroft has written. Per doctor's orders, Matilda has to bathe her mother every four hours and keep her cool and clean.
