Yuna and Akari are great friends and draw their strength e-copy provided by publisher through NetGalley for review. Yuna and Akari are great friends and draw their strength from one another. Kazuomi is awesome and I like that he is becoming friends with Rio.
Their group has many dynamics to it but they all manage to help one another and everyone needs friends like that. Overall, I am still enjoying this series. Argh my heart Give me a minute Because that last page and Inui-kun all together just makes my heart all gooey and smushy.
But what can I say This manga keeps getting better by each volume that comes by. The development that all relationships and characters are going through is just so amazing! Took an unexpected turn. I love Io Sakisaka. Rereading this series as it comes out in English is great. Apr 06, Online Eccentric Librarian rated it really liked it Shelves: arcmangacontemporary. You have step brother and sister, sister's best friend, and then another male friend.
Step brother loves sister, sister loves 0ther best friend, sister's best friend loves the step sister, and we'll find out where old friend fits soon enough, I imagine. But of course, the melodrama plays out with Sakisaka's gentle storytelling and doe-eyed artwork. Story: Akari is still very upset with how her mother is treating her new stepson; even 5 minutes alone with her stepbrother Rio draws suspicious eyes that the teens are up to hanky panky. It's causing resentment and frustration that is starting to stress the new family.
Meanwhile, Yuna wants to confess to Rio but it's hard when Rio is constantly talking about how much he feels about Akari. Enter old friend Inui who is giving introspective Akari very mixed signals. Most of the volume is about Yuna trying to get the courage to confess, Rio admitting how strongly he feels about his new step sister, and then Akari feeling like everything is out of control in her life.
Inui just adds to the confusion, as does the older brother of an old schoolmate who was once an object of a crush by Akari.
So, while not a As Long As You Love Me - Various - Love Story Vol.2 (Cassette) happens, you don't read a Sakisaka manga for action. You read it for the heartfelt moments and quiet conversations that say more than words. The artwork is at top form - clean and easy to follow. You won't have any problem divining the underlying emotions in every panel.
Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher. May 03, Shelly rated it really liked it Shelves: manga. This review was originally written for and posted on Read. I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher. This does not influence my thoughts on the book or this review. There are no spoilers for volume 1 in this review! Another great volume from one of my favourite manga creators! Love Me, Love Me Not volume 2 definitely solidifies this series as one to read and it really draws you in.
Like I said in my previous review, Love Me, Love Me Not begins when two girls, Yuna and Akari, form an unlikely friendship, not realizing that they are actually neighbours.
The two have different opinions on love, especially high school love. In this volume, things with their potential new love interests get a bit complicated as family drama enters the mix. I actually really enjoyed those elements and I think it made for an interesting series. Yuna and Akari are two very different characters but I think readers can relate to them both, for different reasons. I think Sakisaka does a great job at creating characters that are a mix of both naive and wise beyond their years.
I can also see the potential for a really cute romance so I am eagerly anticipating the next volume of this series! May 09, Ruthsic rated it really liked it Shelves: contemporaryarcsromancerc-ngewrc-seriestfmanga-graphicnovelyoung-adultrc-new-release.
Okay, that twist at the ending of the last volume? Whew, turns out it just adds another layer of drama to this group.
Yuna finds out that Rio and Akari are step siblings because of their parents' marriage, and prior to that Rio was going to confess his feelings to Akari, but couldn't. Akari, meanwhile, has been unaware of his feelings, but since they both have agreed to be siblings for the sake of less drama in their social life, she is only frustrated by her mother's suspicions of Rio. Yuna, se Okay, that twist at the ending of the last volume?
Yuna, seeing Rio's complicated situation and him dealing with it, finally decides to come clean with her own feelings so that she can be rejected, and thus move on, be friends with him and support him emotionally. Meanwhile, we get a glimpse into Akari's crush on another guy, something she has been hanging onto. Taking inspiration from Yuna's example, she finally decides to face those feelings and move on from them; quite a parallel to how Yuna decides to be more upfront and active when it comes to her love life, after looking at Akari.
Having done that, she starts to realize she has feelings for Kazuomi, but oh boy, she is probably going to be in for some pain because he is so oblivious he won't even realize when she will flirt with him. Dealing with some heartbreak is already a theme for Rio and Yuna, but looks like it might come for Akari, too. Finally, I gotta say, I love the artwork, especially chibi Yuna who is so goddamn adorable?
I can't wait to see where Yuna's and Rio's story goes, and whether the oblivious but profound Kazuomi will realize Akari's feelings for him or whether this love square will complete by some reveal like Kazuomi having feelings for Yuna instead? Dear Io Sakisaka: Sorry for underestimating your work. Subtleties like Futaba and Kou being two different persons years after parting, like it happens in real life, but still falling for each other again or, in the case of this series, a bun Dear Io Sakisaka: Sorry for underestimating your work.
Subtleties like Futaba and Kou being two different persons years after parting, like it happens in real life, but still falling for each other again or, in the case of this series, a bunch of kids with difficult family situations although far from being as melodramatic as in most other manga they want to escape from, with maybe the exception of Yuna who acts like a balance force that keeps them all sane. Your protagonists are also different. Instead of being cliches or archtypes, they are realistic girl anyone can identify with: Ninako's surprising normalcy, Futaba's noisiness as well as her indifference and even dislike of the femininity she has to conform with unless she wanted to look good for Kou that also gets her in trouble with other girls.
And in this case, Yuna's introversion, shyness and uncanny observation skills, as well as her sincerity which clashes with Akari's extraversion, impulsiveness and her occasional obliviousness of her own feelings and those of other people.
Yuna, who always tries her best and wears her heart on her sleeve, and Akari, who is social but doesn't open her heart that easily. Advance Reader Copy provided by the publisher on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was so excited when I saw that Volume 2 was available for request on NetGalley, because I had requested and received the first volume from the publisher last time and I was really looking forward to seeing what will happen next in this series!
I really liked reading this volume. It had been a while since I read the first volume so it did take me a while to remember what happened in the last one, but once Advance Reader Copy provided by the publisher on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. As Long As You Love Me - Various - Love Story Vol.2 (Cassette) had been a while since I read the first volume so it did take me a while to remember what happened in the last one, but once I remembered I really started to enjoy this book.
I read this manga in two sittings and the second sitting was a lot easier and faster once I had remembered the important parts. What I really enjoy about this manga series is that the focus is not the romance, not that there is a focus on a couple getting together. It deals with love, but many aspects of love, from unrequited, to family love. Especially with the different takes on love Yuna and Akari have. I was sad about the direction Yuna's love took but it is understandable that it would go that way.
I just really enjoyed how realistic the love is and that it doesn't always work out, and you could also still be hung up on a person that you had a crush on from when you was a child. I would recommend this series if you like mangas that have a more realistic take on love, enjoy seeing friendships develop into being best friends, and a great depiction of seeing friends become a part of your family.
Apr 21, Kacey rated it liked it. My opinion was not affected by the free copy. I was concerned that this manga was going to go in the direction of romantic love between step-siblings. I know it's not technically incest, but the idea still unsettled me. However you feel about the possibility of that storyline, this manga is still very delightful if you're a fan of slice-of-life stories.
Nothing really exciting or crazy happens-- Thank you to NetGalley and VIZ Media for the free copy of this manga in exchange for an honest review. Nothing really exciting or crazy happens-- it's just these kids going through high school and working through their various crushes.
A lot of the volume is just characters talking to each other about their lives, their loves, or them going through personal anxieties and memories. Yuna is still extremely relateable for me. She's so shy and awkward, unsure of herself and putting herself down.
I like that the characters are developing and showing more complexity. I would like more out of Yuna's guy friend; at the moment he's just there.
Since this volume fleshed out Rio a bit more, maybe we'll get more out of the next guy in the third volume. I hope so! As long as this manga continues along the same slice-of-life vibe, I think I'll continue enjoying it.
May 15, Sharon Tyler rated it liked it. Fast friends Yuna and Akari are complete opposites—Yuna is an idealist, while Akari is a realist. When lady-killer Rio and the oblivious Kazuomi join their ranks, love and friendship become quite complicated!
It took me a couple pages to remember all the details of who everyone was and where we left off. Once I was back in the swing of things there were emotions, angst, and teen conflict left and right. Yuna and Akari come to some conclusions and are working toward being more honest with As Long As You Love Me - Various - Love Story Vol.2 (Cassette) about their emotions, and in some cases more open with others.
There were heart wrenching moments, and some that have left me as confused as the characters in the story. I think readers that enjoy character angst and emotional struggles will want to keep reading this series, and will enjoy it. Apr 30, Anitalia Payne rated it it was amazing Shelves: manga.
I was left hanging at vol. I love how the author bring Yuna from the meek one into the glowing one, and not instantly happening but with good, grown up process. It does moves my feeling a lot whenever the character happened to be so excitedly happy, broken heart in pieces or just having fun with the world. So excited for the next volume of this book, really want to know what will happen with this unique friendship love story.
May 09, BlondeeBeth rated it really liked it. I love the way that confession was depicted in this volume, it felt so real. Again I really love the different opinions on love between the main characters and I can't wait to see them grow as humans as this series goes on. I feel like their opinions are becoming more mature as this series goes on and I can't wait to see how that changes.
I'm still not a big fan of what happened at the end of the last volume but I can see the story, maybe, moving away from that, which I'm glad at! I also feel like the story is moving really fast and think a slightly slower pace would be better so we get to spend more time with the characters but maybe I just read too fast! The art style continues to be absolutely gorgeous and I will definitely be continuing this series. Apr 03, Dani elle rated it really liked it.
The more I read this more I like the direction this is going. I also like that Imui is a potentially ace character the authors note says that he isn't interested in anyone and that he doesn't realize his actions may be considered romantic which is very on brand for the ace peeps in my life. I've now read more from this author, so I'm starting to pick up more of their commonly use The more I read this more I like the direction this is going. I've now read more from this author, so I'm starting to pick up more of their commonly used themes and have a good idea where this is going to go, but I'm still interested enough to want to read on.
May 08, Ramie rated it really liked it Shelves: comics-mangapublisher-provided-free-for-reviewyaromance. Our four main characters are back though I do feel like one was a background character who is becoming a main character. And how about if he likes his sister step instead of you?
For Yuna that answer is tell him how you feel. She isn't surprised when Rio thanks her for telling him, but then again sometimes there are signs of hope. I am plan on keeping a look out for more books by Jaime Russell after reading this book.
I As Long As You Love Me - Various - Love Story Vol.2 (Cassette) everything about it and really thought it was sp A brilliantly, well done romance with complex characters, a tender storyline and an appealing plot that just spoke to me. This book was sweet, maybe a little too sweet, to be honest. It seemed like there was a bunch of "fluff" in it, maybe to get the page count up. A lot of useless stuff. Also, I think maybe the copy we got was before the editor.
So I found a lot of mistakes. Maybe that is why I struggled with this book. Jensen is a single dad to twins, Sara is an only child with severe parents. That being said, theyespecially Jensen, frustrated me no end. The premise of this story is unique and interesting. The overlapping and underlying stories and their individual pasts give the story life.
Revisiting Max, Jonathan, Reagan, Abby and the gang is fun. There is a lot going on in the book. The relationship build up is slow and definitely interesting to say the least.

Seriously this book is amazing and you can't help but love Sarah even more. Yes our heroine Sarah and hero "doc" Jensen. This book was sweet, funny, emotional, and steamy. And even though this is a series, I was able to follow along. At times, I did get confused who was who but I concentrated on Jensen and Sarah and their story. What happens when you spend time in an on-call room with a hot doctor, you get a baby in the oven. And the man is a mystery because they never exchanged names. Sarah who is accident prone finds herself pregnant with his child. It's a small world, she became friends with her clients ch This is my first time reading Jaime Russell.
It's a small world, she became friends with her clients children. Being on bed rest, she is able to get her designs complete. She has daily interaction via text and calls to her client, Jensen. They become friends over the phone. And even though they never seen each other, they both look forward to speaking to one another and love forms.
Jensen comes to Sarah's aid. But when they finally see each other the first time, the one night stand turns out to be the client. Jensen's life revolves around his two kids. With the twins mother walking out when they were just babies, he is very selective who they are around. With a close bond, it's just him and the kids. But when he does go out, he does the one night stand. He doesn't want a relationship and makes that known.
But when he had one amazing night in the on-call room, that night is burned in his memory. Jensen keeps imagining the blonde bombshell and wished he did things different with her. With his home being renovating, he looks forward to talking his designer, Sarah. At the beginning I didn't care for Jensen with his one night stand ways. I didn't like the man. But once the two realized who each other were, I saw Jensen turn into As Long As You Love Me - Various - Love Story Vol.2 (Cassette) real man.
He breathed for Sarah and their new child. The love that Sarah had for his two grown children made Jensen love Sarah even more. They were in love. I highly recommend reading the two other series to get a better understanding of characters.
